I'm sitting looking at the weeds. I know I should be doing something about them, but I'm too comfortable; Helen has taken the kids and some friends for a nosey. We helped them to get a plot and they are very excited about it.
So, it's quiet for a moment. The bees are, in the words of my youngest, having a pollen party on our two lavender bushes, the sunflowers are small but bright and I've just scoffed a fistful of blueberries.
The chickens have all dropped into a contented quiet, having had their mid-afternoon dust bath, Ebony the lionhead rabbit is chilling and we all seem to be in a semi-blissed out state.
I'm not collecting any produce today, though there is plenty still to take (yesterday I took home courgettes, runner beans, onions and tomatoes galore.) instead, I have put up a bird feeder and several insect boxes.
So... The weeds can enjoy the sun like the rest of us. Their time will come.
